Opal is one of the newest recruits to the Nightmare Agency. Opal is a troublemaker who doesn't see the point in all that sappy love stuff. His monsters tend to be unpredictable and difficult for him to control, but they are very strong. Despite his talents, since he's so young, he is rarely taken seriously. He's often tasked as the Agency's "Errand Boy".

As a Nightmare Agent, he currently resides in a room in the Chalcedonian Palace.

Biography

Opal is one of the newest recruits to the Nightmare Agency. He’s one of the first villains to arrive on Earth, and the first one our heroes meet. Opal joined the agency sometime after the attack on the palace and managed to quickly earn a spot among the highest ranking generals in the agency. He's also the youngest of the generals, and is around the same age as Alex.^[1]

Personality

Opal is petty, loud, hot-headed and extremely energetic. He doesn't see any point in stuff like friendship and love, not that he was ever given much reason to, and he doesn't give a damn about others. He's always been a bit of a troublemaker who wants attention.

He enjoys fighting and treats conflict as challenges to be met head-on, preferring to go full throttle and using brute force over careful planning. He is proud of his strength and tends to dismiss caution as cowardly. Despite his impressive strength, the other Agents often treat him as a liability, and his poorly controlled monsters combined with his tendency to waste Agency resources often gets him in trouble.^[2] ^[3]

Despite his reckless nature, he isn't particularly stupid. He can be surprisingly practical and observant and he adapts quickly. He can also be very responsible and while he complains constantly about cleaning duty, he still maintains the Nightmare Agency headquarters.^[4]

Although he claims to find love and friendship to be stupid, he's still extremely playful and social. He forms attachments easily and he quickly befriends Alex, Liam, and Ethan.^[5] He often treats fighting more like a rivalry than a serious conflict and will even warn the Crystal Warriors before attacking beforehand.^[4]

Opal is one of two characters that weren't originally intended to be love interests, the other being Diana.
