Onyx

Onyx is the second youngest Nightmare Agent, and the second agent to arrive on Earth. He's frail and baby-faced, but don't let that fool you! What he lacks in physical strength, he more than makes up for in intellect. Onyx is no baby, and he’ll crush anyone who dares underestimate him!

Personality

Onyx is also intelligent and very arrogant and competitive. He considers himself one of the more competent members of the Nightmare Agency and takes pride in his intelligence, frequently mocking Opal and Labradorite for being impulsive and stupid.

Onyx is cruel and takes genuine amusement in scaring, humiliating, and tormenting others, even outside of creating Nightmares. But he isn't reckless. He takes his time with his work and is a bit of a perfectionist. He is observant and detail-oriented when he considers something worth his attention, and unlike many of the other Agents he tends to remember useful information and prefers creating Nightmares that are efficient and perfectly obedient. However his monsters tend to have predictable patterns.

Despite presenting himself as mature and rational, Onyx has a terrible temper and it's quite easy to get under his skin. He is sensitive about his size and strength, and arguments with the other Agents often devolve into shouting and petty insults. He dislikes being treated as a child and makes a point of distinguishing himself from the younger and more impulsive Opal. Onyx is also the most cynical about love and sentimentality of the generals, viewing those feelings as irrational.

Outside of agency duties, he enjoys reading and is a fan of science fiction.
